There is no doubt, Tiny Love Gyms are an essential thing to have; and this one comes with all the toys. I just have one complaint: the material the base is made of (where the baby rests), is shiny and of man-made materials. I borrowed a Tiny Love Gym from a friend for my first child, and the base was made of soft cotton (at least that’s what it felt like). Not sure if that was because it was old and they have changed their materials, or if it was just because it was a different model (it had a Noah’s arc theme). At any rate, I will still keep this one and use it, but I will probably put a cotton blanket down under the baby. (Also, the picture on this one isn’t the most appealing.) Can’t beat the price though! And babies love the hanging toys.

Pretty good time for baby, December 17, 2009

I received the Tiny Love Gymini Sunny Day Activity Gym yesterday, and am overall very pleased with the product. I wish I could give this product a 4.5 rating, but the stars won’t let me.

The gym came in a tote and storage bag, and was ready to use almost immediately with little assembly required. Flip the arches up and snap them together where they cross in the middle and, Voila! It came with four hanging toys that were already placed on the arches. There is a frog that vibrates after you pull its legs down, a turtle rattle, a multi-leaf teether, and a musical sun that has an on/off switch and batteries included.

My little one is 4 months old and pretty excited about her new toy. She talks to the charms quit a bit–in baby language, of course–and explores them readily with her hands and mouth. My only complaint is that the sun needs to be whacked, more than tapped, for it to play music. The instructions say it should work with a tsp (although I don’t think “whack” qualifies as a word companies use in their technical writings). She will eventually be able to do this on her own, but for now she needs my assisstance to get it to work, and she gets frustrated that she cannot do it by herself.

That being said, this is a very well-made product. The arches are sturdy, and I don’t think they will fall down while I’m not looking. The snap in the middle is simple genius. The people at Tiny Love seem to know what they are doing.

Fun for infants, August 18, 2010

This was purchased as a gift for my twin girls. They’re almost 7 weeks, so they’re just starting to look at the objects. The one thing I don’t like is that the sound mechanism that’s in the sun, doesn’t stay inside with the weak velcro holding it in place. That’s where the on/off switch is located. A few more notes in the music would have been nice, too.
