Love the Potty Bench, June 20, 2012

We had purchased the Baby Bijorn potty chair and my daughter would not sit in it because her chubby legs would get stuck. She hated it! I purchased the Boon Potty Bench and she loves it. She sat down and used it right away! This product is great!

Safe for boys!!!! Soft flexible pee guard., June 17, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

I spent the extra money for this item because it was the only potty I found that has a flexible pee guard for my son. I was worried he might hurt his privates with the typical hard plastic guards. Also, I read reviews for some seats that require kids to kinda of spread their legs to sit on the potty which is difficult when wearing pants. With this seat my son can just sit on it with his legs in front of him without removing his pants. It is a little high for him because he is a short 17 month old but I know he will grow into it. The only issue I have encountered is that my son sat on top of it with the lid down and peed and some of the urine went in the crack where the side storage covers slide up and down and it is impossible to get in there to clean, I had to lug this heavy, large thing in the tub and run water through it. Everything turned out fine and other than that it is a great product. You can’t even tell it is a potty when closed up. It makes for a great step for children to reach the sink. I also like how it has a toilet paper roll holder. It will make my son feel mature when he gets older. One more thing that is annoying but necessary is that the toilet seat comes off so you can clean it but my son likes to pop it off all the time and I always have to put it back. I’m sure this won’t be an issue for older children. Some reviews also said it might be difficult for kids to open and close the sliding side storage but if my child can do it I’m sure other children can. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone. The company donates a percentage to organizations that help children in need. This product also comes in a lime green color.

Only works for girls, wrong geometry for boys, April 14, 2012
This review is from: Boon Potty Bench Training Toilet with Side Storage, Kiwi (Baby Product)

The Boon Potty Bench is sturdily built, but has major flaws.

It appears to have been designed for girls, with a flat seating surface. To compensate they added a pop-up flexible spoon-shaped extension for boys that slides into a slot on the drawer — clearly an afterthought. A failed afterthought.

First, the flexible extension is tempting to play with and easily pushed aside. With frequently disastrous result.

Pressing down on the extension pops the drawer open, and leaves the extension caught under the seating surface. There is no catch on the drawer to prevent this from happening.

Further, lowering the lid often pops the drawer out in the same way. Again with nothing to prevent a baby from pulling it out the rest of the way.

Over time the flexible extension takes a “set”, making it less likely to work for redirecting pee, more likely to be used to push the drawer open, and actually more likely to prop ‘things’ up so that pee goes further.

My experience is that about 2/3 of the time there is a pee disaster requiring significant clean-up. With enough pee on the bench surface, it ends up in the side storage compartments.

The large size might also be an issue in some rooms. We have otherwise-wasted space aside our sink, but this won’t fit in most small bathrooms.

With a higher priced product like this one, you really buy into wanting it to work. But sadly it’s far less functional than lower priced products.

Not the solution for me, December 2, 2011
This review is from: Boon Saucer Edgeless Stayput Divider 3 Pack Plate (Baby Product)

Customer Video Review Length:: 0:13 Mins

I purchased this product on a whim. The plates looked simple and cute and I was looking for stay put plates for my 11 month old daughter. She has been feeding directly off the dinner table whenever we dine out. The concept of an edgeless slip-resistant plate seemed like a good solution to tackle the problem of plates that go sliding off the table or plates that are easily lifted off the table only to be thrown to the ground. My husband, the frugal buyer, who questions many of my purchases because I am that good consumer who falls for marketing gimmicks, was skeptical. I did not expect the plates to be slip-proof or lift-proof. I only expected it to be a challenge for my daughter to pick the plate up or slide it across a table and so I set her up with a plate to have my husband’s skepticism squashed. Only that didn’t happen. She immediately picked the plate up at which point my husband got out his iPhone out to record video of her repeating the process. As you can see, it’s not much of a challenge and pretty much no different than a regular plate.

Not too hard to pick up, January 20, 2012

This plate may be difficult to pick up when it is sitting on a flat surface, but it isn’t hard to slide. My 9 month old has no problem sliding this plate to the edge of the table, and then picking it up. It makes kind of a loud sound when the rubber on the bottom scrapes against the table, which only encourages her to try to slide it. Nice try, but as a stay-put plate it comes up a little short.

cute plates, October 8, 2011

This review is from: Boon Saucer Edgeless Stayput Divider 3 Pack Plate (Baby Product)

I got these for a two-year old, after getting frustrated watching him try to eat from plates that continued to slide around his little high-chair table. It’s wonderful, doesn’t move at all and it’s harder for him to grip (he likes picking up plates and making huge messes). The only negative was that the plates are too shallow, making it a bit difficult for the baby to scoop his food from the plate.. It sort of slides out the side. All in all, decent plate, very cute, nice colors and delivered on time.

EXACTLY WHAT MY BABY NEEDED, June 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

I have purchased an embarrassing number of teething products for my son. He was a preemie and has had difficulty with motor skills particularly teething has presented a challenge. It seems like he had a really difficult time getting a teether onto the spot he was trying so intently to teeth on and then had even further trouble keeping the teether in the desired place. I have been really pleased with all of the boon products I have purchased for my son. They seem to approach their designs with no regard for what everyone else is or has been doing and so their products are unique as well as eye catching and always seem to be more functional for the given task than others around.

When I initially handed my son the gnaw he was impressed with the way it was able to move and he quickly got to work investigating its various surfaces. His Occupational therapist was also impressed with the gnaw and said it is the perfect size and design to help tune his motor skills so he gains control but designed so that when he loses control of the toy it is usually easy for him to pick it back up and gain control of it again without getting frustrated and upset.

I highly recommend this product to everyone but especially for teething babies struggling with their motor skills development this toy hits a home run!

stuff won’t drop, August 8, 2011

I love this thing. It reminds me of the pacifier clip. However, in this case it is teething biscuits, carrots or apple slices that don’t fall to the ground. After having lost 2 Sophies the giraffe, I even fit the two hind legs of Sophie into a “GNAW” and it has stayed with my daughter ever since.

Expected more from this., November 15, 2011

I was hoping this would be better. It is hand wash only which is a pain. I found it impossible to put the teething biscuit in all the way. Since it hardly went in the biscuit broke as soon as my son started gnawing… I tried it once and now it sits unused. Save your money. It’s a shame because I usually love boon products. I gave it 2 stars cause it looks cool.
