Great baby swing!, April 9, 2011

Our daughter loves this swing! We have been putting her in it since she was a newborn. One feature that we love is that the direction of the seat can be turned so that the baby swings forward to back or side to side. This has been wonderful because our baby does not like to swing side to side like many swings do. Also, the adjustable speed and different sounds that it plays are great!

The only thing we would change about this product is the legs. The base of the swing is too wide to fit through a standard door without taking the legs off, which is somewhat limiting when it comes to moving the swing from room to room. The legs do have a button that allows them to pop off, but taking the legs off every time you want to move the swing is a little bit tedious. That is the only reason why I gave the swing 4 stars instead of 5.

All in all it is a great swing for the price!

After 8 months…I love it!, September 18, 2011

I’ve been using this swing with my 8 month old son. It is wonderful. He loves it too.

PROs:

* I’ve heard people say they didn’t want a battery powered swing. We didn’t realize this was battery powered when we bought it…I wouldn’t have bought it if I did, BUT, I’m now very glad it is battery powered. It doesn’t waste a plug in or have cables for other kids to play with and the batteries have only needed to be changed 1 time in 8 months(and we abuse this thing!)

* The seat rotates 180 degrees, and is comfy for him too (he loves the swing)

* 6 levels of swing strength, we typically use settings 1-3, but thats just what our baby prefers.

* It can play some sound…and some of them sounds are actually not too annoying for us parents

* 2 volume levels, I’ve found in some other baby toys the low sound setting is still pretty loud, this swing has a nice reasonable low level volume, we typically don’t use the high level unless its a last resort

* Amazingly quiet mechanics…this thing is SILENT mechanically

CONs:

not many….

* Battery powered could be seen as a bad thing, but i’ve been really impressed with the battery life

* Now that our son is getting bigger, if we put him in this and he’s off center, the swing has a hard time swinging him and will stop eventually…but he’s bigger than most baby’s who will use the swing. (He was born with club feet and has been in casts/braces and had a surgery already, so he’s not crawling or walking yet, I know alot of baby’s will start crawling around this age and may stop using a swing).

Good swing but hard to keep the baby well center once she is bigger, September 24, 2011

This swing works great when it does. The songs are not annoying, it’s very quiet. My daughter sleeps for hours on it as long as it’s swing. However, keeping it in motion is a difficult task. My daughter is 2 months old and she’s 13 lbs. Initially I have no problem get the swing going, occasionally she will be off center and it will stop after an hour or so (which I have no problem with, you need to check on the baby every so often anyway). Now she’s 13 lbs it’s almost impossible for me to place her perfectly center to keep the swing going. Regardless of what setting I use the swing barely move and eventually stop after 20 minutes or so and she wakes up. I changed the batteries twice already to see if it will help, it doesn’t. I will have to buy swing, since I am running out of patient with this one.

This is a fun and bright toy that has great suction! I have had this toy for about 2 months (my son is 6 months now) and he has enjoyed this toy since we got it. He finds new aspects to the toy every week. At first, he liked that if he hit it, it would spin. Then the next week he noticed the rings on the bottom, and the next week he noticed the small spinning boxes on the inside. It seems to excite him when he gets in his high chair! Best part is that is has great suction!

Great toy!, December 30, 2010

I love this toy! Entertains baby in highchair better than any toy I have purchased so far. Easy to spin and continuously spins for awhile. The rattle sounds also entertains my baby. Great toy!

DOESN’T STICK, August 8, 2011

This is a great toy and my daughter loves it…HOWEVER, the reason I purchased this over other similar toys was because of all the reviews that stated how this toy had good suction, unlike others like it; and other similar toys all had bad reviews about the poor suction. We didn’t have such luck; the suction is horrible and it does not stick, even when wet.

sophie the giraffe, January 10, 2012

My daughter loved her original sophie the giraffe and lost it. I ordered this set as a replacement but after playing and chewing on it for a short time the spots started coming off. We also noted that the color of the spots were different from the original. She also was not interested at all in the stuffed giraffe. I returned this and got another replacement at a store nearby that is same as the original and she loves it and the spots are staying put!

Vulli Sophie Giraffe Set – Awesome, October 27, 2011

Loved, Loved, this set. Bought this for my new Grandson. I have seen this little Giraffe on the movie “Three Men and a Little Lady” so figured it has been around for awhile, and a good product. With all the teething a baby does it is nice to find something that is all Natural.

Addition to Zoo, December 20, 2011

This was purchased as an addition to the full Zoo product. It came in ok but when used on the playset, it has a few issues as to responding to its request. When placed on a certain spot in the playset, it is supposed to talk and make sounds. You have to play around with the placement of the tiger for it to react.

Our daughter has the zoo and several animals, but I was hoping the animals when placed on the talking box did more. All it does is state what kind of animal it is and then the sound they make. Wished they’d give some little extra facts in there making it more educational. But the zoo is really cute and my daughter just loves it.

My 27 month old likes this tiger and has no trouble pushing it down on the red button to make its noise, although it has said “zebra” twice. He knows what a tiger is and promptly tells the toy “no” and presses it again. The sound is appropriate and the figure is close to realistic in color and striping

4/5 because it is a great figurine for the Zoo Talkers set but at least twice I have witnessed my 27 month old press it down only to hear “zebra” instead of “tiger”. It seems to happen when the front of the tiger is pressed instead of the middle/rear, but I can’t be sure because I can’t reproduce it.

this tub is the ONE!, August 2, 2009

Save yourself the time and energy looking for a baby bath tub and head straight for this one. I’m so happy with this tub that I find myself making more time for bath time with my baby! First of all, it’s just so darn cute. But seriously, here are my top reasons for loving this tub:

1) For the infant stage, no sling to mess with. Although a sling sounds nice and hammocky, you won’t miss it. Sling issues from my experience include sagging, baby suspended over the nice warm water, not actually in it! Hard bumps for baby’s tender back or bottom. None of those issues here!

Instead of the sling, it’s much simpler…baby’s back rests against the soft, oval padding you see in the picture. Baby is kept from sliding down into the tub by a removable ledge, which leaves more of baby actually comfortable and IN the water with legs free to move and kick, which makes bath time more fun and enjoyable! By the way, it will take a little muscle power (not a bad thing) to remove the ledge when baby can sit up.

2) For the 6+ months stage or when baby is sitting up, remove the ledge you have a basin large enough for baby to sit comfortably and play without knees knocking against the edges, yet it’s not so large that it takes up too much space or baby feels insecure. I also like the depth. It can be filled with enough water without having to be filled to the brim.

3) It comes with a perfect little accessory: a baby whale strainer that is (a) cute, (b) functional, (c) fun toy. First of all, this baby whale is just adorable. Secondly, it’s very useful during the infant stage, especially if you’re not using the kitchen sink sprayer. Simply scoop up water and allow it to flow through the strain holes to rinse baby or tickle baby. Lastly, when baby starts grabbing, it becomes FUN for him or her. Curiosity, cause and effect, those lightbulb moment looks. Just priceless, and again it’s so simple.

4) It fits in the kitchen sink perfectly. It also works on the counter top since it has non-skid type material underneath -still use common sense and stay beside baby & tub. It fits in the bath tub as well. So, where ever you want to use it, the tub should work.

5) Price – this tub is the best value AND quality I’ve found. Many other tubs cost more, but they have features that don’t live up to expectations.

Great tub for the price!, January 11, 2009

I used a Safety First one for 2 sons and didn’t like the small crevices in the end where soap and slime could eventually collect. I also didn’t like that the no-slip rest was too low and one little kick from baby and he’d slide down into the water with his back over the butt rest. I checked out a Eurobath, but it is much to large for kitchen sink/counter bathing and stooping over a tub to reach a slippery baby isn’t easy. But I know some people always think higher price means better quality. (This isn’t always true!)

After searching I came across this, the ‘butt-stop’ is more adequate for babies and is removable for bigger kids. The surface has no small areas making bleaching/cleaning easy. It also fits securely onto the sink, better than any others I’ve tried. The only downside is there is no sling for spongebaths when they still have their umbilicle cords. They usually only have their cords a short time so that is alright with me in the long run.

UPDATE: After daily use for 1.5 months I’m still happy with this tub. I’ve also discovered that it drains really fast which I love.

ANOTHER UPDATE: I’m now using this tub with a new baby and I’m still happy with it. It came out of storage in great shape, no brittle parts and the foam on the back still looks new.

Mixed review depending on age, September 10, 2010

This was our son’s first bath tub and we are still using it at 8 months. I gave it 3 stars because it worked better at certain ages than others.

NEWBORN:

We had to hold his head from flopping to the side and he was too short for his butt to rest on the green butt-bumper so it was functional but logistically a bit tricky. We stuck it on the counter in our bathroom and because it wasn’t as large as some of the other tubs, it was workable.

3-5 MONTHS:

Before our son could sit up on his own this was the PERFECT time for this tub. His head rested comfortably on the green foam (although not too cushy, just a non-slip type pad), and his butt could rest on the green bumper to keep him from sliding down. The angle of the tub back was perfect so he didn’t get water in his ears but we could fill the tub up to keep him warm. We still put a warm washcloth on his chest in the winter to keep him from getting chilled, but in a warm bathroom this wasn’t necessary as their was enough water in the tub.

6+ MONTHS:

Now that he can sit up on his own, we took the green butt-bumper out and he can sit comfortably in the deep end of the pool facing either front or back. He can splash and play and we can still lay him down if needed.

—-The orange cup with holes in the bottom was a hit at every age and we’ll use it long after he fully outgrows the tub.

When my son was first born, we were given a regular, small round play mat. It was great for the first few months until he started rolling over and getting caught on the bars. There just wasn’t enough space for him. When I found this mat at another store I could tell it was perfect, but there was no way I was going to pay the they were asking. When I found this so much cheaper on Amazon I was so excited! This is large enough for my 6-month old to motor around on. But my favorite feature of this mat is the unique fold up sides. It is so helpful to keep him from rolling off the mat, and he loves looking at the cute, friendly animals on the sides. This is the best mat you can buy, we don’t travel anywhere without it. A must buy for any parent of active babies!

Just OK, November 4, 2011

This play mat is just OK. We have the Fisher Price Rainforest and bought this one as a second area for our son to play in. The Fisher Price is SO much better quality and fun for him. The music and lights on this are just so-so. We liked the idea of walls that can be up or down but it isn’t worth the money at all. Besides, now that he is 4 1/2 months and rolling all over the place the walls don’t work for us anymore.

I had the Fisher Price Rain Forest mat for my daughter loved how pretty it was but the music is the same and after awhile just annoying plus the mat is super small and she always rolled off it,so when I saw this mat at Target on sale for only .00 I bought it plus I liked it so much I went back and bought another one but this time it was only Im going to give one as a gift.These mats are a must have when you have a baby you just dont want them in the swing all day.I love the sides how they fold up and how you can use it in many differnt ways Im so looking forward to watching my little one enjoy this mat.

Molly is one of the new additions to the Thomas the Tank Engine TV Series. A bright yellow engine, she arrived in Season 9 in the episode “Molly’s Special Special”.

My son has been wanting the Fog Cars for some time so I was going to pick it up for him for Christmas when we were out shopping last weekend. But when he saw Molly, he exclaimed that was the one he wanted. Go figure!

Molly looks a bit like Emily and comes in two parts as the larger trains crafted for the wooden railway usually do. No bells and whistles with this engine but it seems to have caught my son’s eye! (And he has DOZENS of Thomas the Tank Engine trains–both Ertl diecast and the larger ones designed for the wooden tracks.)

Got this for my 2-year-old son, and he loves it! My only complaint is the front 2 wheels pivot separately from the rear 4 wheels, so they sometimes have a mind of their own and steer off the track. That said, it’s a nice addition to a child’s collection.

It is cozy however………, February 10, 2011

This is a cozy cart cover, however, it does not come with a belt to fasten your baby in. The directions say to use the shopping cart belt. Well isn’t that the whole point of a cart cover not to have the baby touch the cart. We all know how nasty those shopping cart belts can be. Also, not all carts have belts on them. The package is very misleading as you can see a belt on the back of the seat which I originally thought was to fasten the child. I took a strap from my older son’s old cart cover and use that. It is not as safe as my son’s was nor does it match. Overall, if I knew this did not have a belt, I would never have purchased it.

This is a pretty good cart cover. The toy loops have really been handy because my daughter has reached the “drop stuff and make Mom pick it up” phase! I just link up some plastic toys and my daughter keeps herself busy while we shop. I also like the cute fabric. This has worked very well for us in restaurant high chairs and it’s been adequate as a cart cover.

I don’t like that I have to use the dirty belt on the cart/high chair with the cover. I wish this came with a belt that I could loop through the cover and the cart instead. I’m going to have to purchase one separately. Also, the back section is a tight squeeze on some carts and very loose on others.

No Buckle!!??, April 6, 2011

After researching many covers online I purchased this one… but was totally surprised when it arrived… It has no buckle… Isn’t the whole point of the cover not to have my baby touch the germy cart … yet I am suppose to use the cart buckle on the baby?? Sent it back the next day and purchased a floppy seat cover which I love
