After reading the other reviews of this toy, and having seen the actual toy in use by my son and other toddlers in his playgroup, I must say I do not understand what the other reviewers were thinking. This is a very simple, hardy, toy drum that can withstand being played by toddlers who play rough and would destroy a weaker drum. Of course it is not a real drum! I am a teacher as well as a mother and can tell you that real drums do not survive use by the average toddler. The material that makes drums sound so nicely and seem hardy to a regular adult is in reality nowhere near strong enough to pass the “toddler” test. The sound of this toy drum is not that of a professional drum, or even an amateur drum. It is not meant to sound like that because it is a TOY. It gives toddlers a chance to explore with rythm (very important for the later development of reading skills) and gross motor movements of their body (also important skills toddlers are learning) without breaking more delicate things around the house. It IS thick plastic and it sounds like thick plastic and that is ok because the purpose of this is not to be used in a performance or to learn to actually play drums but to be played with by very young children learning an entirely different set of developmental skills. Also, while the nice electronic sounds that parents like so much in modern toys are cute, those toys also tend to break faster than good old fashioned simple toys without so many bells and whistles but solidly constructed.(Not to mention all those little electronic tunes get annoying to parents by the 50th time you child activates it in a day) Most toddlers have more fun banging on pots and pans or even playing with a cardboard box than with a fancy toy any day. That is not to say they do not like electronic toys, but they can appreciate simple toys that they can use and hit as hard as they want to and throw down the stairs without being told they need to be gentle with it. This toy drum (not real drum) meets those qualifications. I have seen this is action and am more than satisfied with its performance. My son is very rough and tumble. When he is older, I will get him a nicer drum if that is what he wants. For now, you can’t beat this one.

Fake drum!!!, January 8, 2012

I bought this drum for toysrus. It is a waste!!! The design is nice but since it is not made like a real drum, it sound nothing like it. The top and bottom is just a thick plastic board not a thin rubber or goat skin for this matter and therefore when you beat it it is a unpleasant sound that you would get by hitting anything with a hard object. If you say it is drum, then it should at least sound close to a drum. Am I right? But this this a hard plastic shaped like a drum. The sound is so annoying!!!

My son likes this toy but never uses it as a drum. He uses the drum sticks to beat on everything around the house and really likes them. The sides of the drum has some ribbed edges that make cool sounds and everything is durable.

Infants first gold set, March 27, 2010

got this for my 3 year old son who is always imitating my golf swing. Is a nice toy and keeps him busy. The beauty is he is left handed and the clubs can be used for both left & right handed kids. Comes with 3 gold balls which are very sturdy. He loves to haul the golf cart around from room to room. Only negative comment is ‘The price is very high — would reconsider buying if it were on sale’

Great golf set for a toddler, May 10, 2010

We had to get a plastic golf set because my 20 month old toddler decided that he wants to play golf and kept wanting to swing with my husband’s golf club. This is really really cute golf set, and I love how you can wheel around the “golf bag”. The length of the club is perfect for him, and I can definitely see him playing with it for a long long time. I just wish that it came with more than 3 balls because it’s so easy to lose them while playing. I think this set is definitely worth the money because my son plays with it every single day.

My boy, 13 months old is rarely seem without a club in his hand. Its been over a month. He loves when we whack a ball together. The yellow cup is useless, we threw it out.

My two year old daughter was swinging in this same swing when out of no where she went flying….the piece that goes in between their legs just snapped in half and sent her into the air. Luckily my husband was pushing her and caught her before she hit the ground. It was extremely scary and we have no clue why it did that…the swing was not yet a year old and seemed to be in fine condition. The weight limit was up to 45 lbs and my daughter is only 25 lbs. Just want to warm other parents of the risk!

This swing is great…perfect for staying oudoors. The only recommendation i have is to put some “grip tape” or non-slip bathtub stickers on the seat as my daughter tends to slip down inside the swing!

One of the best bowling sets, November 15, 2009

My son (5) is a bowling fanatic, and has somewhat of a collection of bowling sets. He was hesitant about this set at first, because it didn’t look realistic (white pins, black ball), and didn’t have ten pins, but so far it is the best bowling set we have purchased for him. So many of the ones on the market are cheaply made – they fall over easily, get smashed, or the balls are so light they can hardly knock one pin over. But this set is fantastic! Pins and ball alike are durable and work well. He is thrilled to finally find a set that works like it should! The only downside is that it doesn’t have ten pins. But we like it so much we’ll probably just buy another to add to the first set! (Side note: he also loves the sound they make when they fall down – the little balls inside the pins make it sound like you’ve just knocked ten pins down at the bowling alley!)

Ok. I love that this toy can take a licking… and I’ve got a 17 month old boy, so it definitely gets a good amount of abuse! However, I pretty much have to make this an outside game because of how hard that darn bowling ball is! My son finds it much easier to throw the ball at the pins rather than rolling it, and believe me you don’t want this ball thrown around your house! It’s a fun little game (even though my son really only likes to throw the ball right now), and the pins are really cute with the little balls inside, but it is probably best suited for a toddler that understands how to roll (and the suggested min age is 2). Oh, and the finger holes are pretty pointless.

GREAT WAGON FOR LITTLE ONES, October 7, 2010

MY 20 MONTH OLD GRANDSON LOVES THIS WAGON. BEST ON ALL IT CAME ASSEMBLED. TOOK 30 SECONDS TO GET THE PACKAGING OFF AND IT WAS READY TO BE LOADED WITH HIS TREASURES. I BOUGHT ONE FOR MY HOUSE AND ONE FOR HIS HOUSE SINCE I BABYSIT HIM ON A REGULAR BASIS.

Fun Wagon but NOT Quality!, March 30, 2011

My son has loved this wagon since we first got it about 6 months ago. His bottom fits in it perfectly and he loves to fill it with his toys and pull them around the house. After about 2-3 months we started having issues with the wheels coming off, now we can barely get a few feet before at least one (if not all!) the wheels fall off. It’s in perfect condition otherwise but it’s bound for the curb now I hate getting rid of it when my son has loved it SO much! Fun wagon but I can’t believe it fell apart SO quickly and under pretty gentle use – yes it was pulled by a toddler but it never went outside or was banged against anything.

This wagon has been my sons obsession for the last 2 months!!!!!, May 4, 2011

We LOVE this wagon. I bought it because my son kept trying to drag around his BIG wagon, and also a mini wagon my MIL had bears in at Christmas that wasn’t meant to be played with. I looked around, and I found this. And he LOVES it. It came fully assembled, is very durable, and it the perfect size for a toddler to pull behind him with all his stuff in. He plays with this more than any other toy. It’s so sturdy that he can sit in it and watch TV or I can pull him around the living room in it. His little bottom fits in it just right lol. We have taken it outside a few times and I just hosed it off and it had to come back inside or he’d have had a meltdown!

There are better xylopones, May 20, 2002

Our daughter has three xylophones (don’t asky why) and this one has the poorest sound quality of the three (granted one is a nice wooden xylophone). The sound is very tingy and the notes do not sustain very long after impact. The hammer is very light and bends easily.

If you want a cheap xylophone for your child, I would recommend the “2-in-1 Crocodile Keys Musical Instrument” by Fisher Price. We have one of these and our daughter loves it.

A Toy that will be enjoyed for years, November 4, 2002

I can honestly say my son has been playing with this toy for 3 years. Many of the toys he got as a baby have been packed away but not this one. I love the fact that the stricker is attached with the string so it won’t get lost. A bonus is if you turn it upside down there are ridges which make a great sound when the stricker is rubbed across them. I do wish the string was longer, so it could be played from either side and if it was attached at the end it could be used to pull the toy instead of using the handle. We lost the cards with the songs on them almost right away and I found them hard to use so we never really used them. But this toy was great anyway and I would highly reccommend it.

This is a nice size product for a small child. I bought it for my 18 month old and she really likes it. It is smaller than the other brands but it has more notes than most. The hammer to strike the notes is attached so you dont have to look for it. and it has a handle so it can be carried from room to room which is what my daught does all the time I think itis a good buy

Adorable Shopping Cart, November 2, 2010

My daughter is 2 1/2 years old and she absolutely loves playing with this Shopping Cart. She fills it up with all her foods and utensils from her kitchen, and then puts her favorite doll in the drivers seat and drives around the house as if she is shopping just like Mommy does at the stores. A great buy for every Little Girl!

We purchased this first in the pink & purple. It wasn’t overly complicated to put together, just a little annoying. The cozy coupe is a little smaller than I was expecting, and the doors don’t open, but the cuteness factor far outweighs this minor design flaw. We already own the Melissa & Doug shopping cart and love it, but as a mommy of 2 girls, I could not help myself! We were so pleased with it that we bought a 2nd one, this time in my 4yr old’s choice of color – red, blue & yellow. Again, just as adorable! You will not disappoint with this toy!

The item is very small. The football piece is actually just a rattle. The baseball piece doesn’t function well. I expected a toy that my son could really interact with. I got a toy he can put a ball in the hoop and listen to the crowd cheer. That’s it. I don’t know exactly what I expected. But, more than what I got!

I thought this toy would be more interactive. It isn’t at all what I expected. I am going to be taking it back to the store. The baseball portion is so stupid, it doesn’t even function if it were to function it would have to be tall enough to hit while standing. it doesn’t even spin easily if you hit it with your hand. The football is just a rattle it doesn’t really serve a purpose. The only thing this toy does is make a buzzer sound when you put the basketball in the hoop and then a crowd cheers. I do not recommend this toy at all. Pick out something else. It is so not worth the money.

I rated it a 3 because it would serve the purpose of hand eye cordination, but it isn’t even fun to play with, both my 8 month old and 20 month old went onto other toys after about two minuntes with this toy right out of the box.

Caution…., November 10, 2005

My son received this toy for his first birthday. My three year old niece had managed to get her arm stuck in the basketball hoop before my sister wrapped it for my son. I thought that was just a fluke as my niece is very active and likes to explore. My son likes the toy’s music and flashing numbers on the scoreboard but isn’t crazy about the football or baseball. They snap onto the toy at the bottom and don’t stay on very well anyway. My son has had this toy for a month now and a few days ago he managed to get his arm stuck in the basketball hoop as well. There is a small plastic wedge that depresses when the ball goes through the hoop that activates the music and lights. My son put his hand down the hoop after the ball and the lever depressed, but once his hand cleared the hoop, it released, leaving him unable to pull his hand back up. I was sitting next to him and was able to reach in and depress the lever enough to slide his arm out but it still scared him enough to make him cry, and he’s a tough little guy. I think this toy could be dangerous and my son is not playing with it until my husband takes it apart and removes that lever. I don’t know how much my son will enjoy then because there will be no sound or lights…there are better toys in this price range that are not hazardous.

Great Toy but steering mechanism really needs to be improved, September 9, 2010

My little 13 month boy really loves this tricycle. He even makes us push him around in the house. The 3 step progression is a great idea. He gets bored with the stroller, but not this. The wrap around barrier is an added plus that I didn’t see on the other tricycles. This is especially important for the younger babies. The big disappointment is how it’s difficult to steer. I hope Tikes eventually fixes this. For the person pushing, it turns out to be a lot of work when you should be enjoying the walk.

I would return this if we hadn’t already put it together. The red plastic restraint does not stay on the trike, and the shoulder straps are too short and do not fit over my 14 month old’s shoulders. There is no way to keep him secured to the trike. The sun shade is just silly. The steering is “loose”.

Fantastic toy. Sturdy, easy to assemble, and hours or hours of fun to play with. The lower cabinet stores extra food, dishes, and toys. The top grill handles turn and the other features: faucet and side grill, give even more area to play and create. The accessories are very good quality, too. Great price and fun toy that I am sure we are going to have to years, especially since my daughter won’t take it out of the house as she loves playing with throughout the day.

We have had many other cooking type toys that have been used for a day and discarded. This grill is a winner. He loves making us dinner on it. It’s just the right size, not as big as other kitchens and plenty of space for them to make creations. Love the storage cabinet.This toy is a winner. Very sturdy as well, he slams the lid constantly.

This was a present for my 5 year old grandson, who likes playing with it as he copies his

dad on the barbecue. only point is that when buying this you should also buy another set of food

to go with it, this makes it more interesting, as it comes with only 1 and one hot dog.
